Polytechnic Admission 2024
Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Assam Polytechnic has released the official notification for admission 2024. Interested and eligible candidates can apply online here for admission to Diploma courses in the following State Government Polytechnics of Assam for the session 2024-2025.
Number of seats in State Govt Polytechnic is 4425 seats for 22 marks in various diploma programs.

As per the official notification, there will be no Polytechnic Admission Test (PAT) from 2024-25 session. Admission to various polytechnic courses under the Department of Technical Education (DTE), Assam will be based on marks obtained in the HSLC examination with Mathematics and Science as compulsory subjects. Assam Polytechnic Admission Eligibility Criteria
Resident-ship: Candidates must be an Indian citizen and a permanent resident of Assam. Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC) must be produced at the time of counselling. He may be granted provisional admission on receipt of PRC application and undertaking to submit final PRC within 60 days. If the candidate fails to submit the PRC within the stipulated time, his/her seat will be cancelled.

Educational Qualification:
Candidate must have passed H.S.L.C. OR its equivalent examination in single sitting with Mathematics and Science as compulsory subjects. Candidates have to pass both theory and practical test in Mathematics and Science separately.
The minimum average percentage required in Mathematics and Science is mentioned below.

Polytechnic Admission Application Fee
- Application Fee : Assam Polytechnic admission application fee is Rs.300/- plus bank charges as applicable.
Mode of Payment:
- Online : Debit Card/Credit Card/Net Banking.
- Offline : Collect the final step of online application through cash deposit form from State Bank.
How to apply for polytechnic admission?
Permanent Citizens of Assam who are willing and eligible candidates can follow the below mentioned steps to apply online for admission to Diploma Courses in the following State Government Polytechnics in Assam for the session 2024-2025.
- Scroll down, go to important web-links section.
- Click on “Online Application Form” and complete the registration process.
- In the next stage, click on the “Online Application Form” link and login.
- Fill all your personal and educational details and upload required documents.
- Pay the application fee as per your category and submit the form.
- Finally, take a Print out of the application form.
Documents Required for Assam Polytechnic Admission
Interested candidates are requested to keep the following documents ready.
- Permanent Resident Certificate [P.R.C.]
- Caste certificate for all candidates except unreserved category.
- Non Creamy Layer Certificate – For six communities under OBC/MOBC and OBC/MOBC.
- Grandson/Granddaughter of freedom fighter : Certificate issued by Principal Private Secretary to Chief Minister or Home & Political Department and relationship certificate from concerned District Commissioner.
- Son/Daughter of Retired Defense Personnel : Certificate from Director, Rajik Sainik Board, Assam.
- Son/Daughter of Central Government Servants : P.R.C.- Service certificate of father/mother from concerned State authority outside Assam and from concerned authority located in Assam.
- Physically Handicapped (PH)/ Persons with Disabilities (PwD) : Identity card for differently abled issued by Social Welfare Department, Assam.
- Economically Weaker Sections [EWSs] : Valid E.W.S Certificate.
- Tuition Fee Waiver [TFW] : Annual income certificate issued by an authority not below the rank of Revenue Circle Officer.
- Sports Quota : Certificate from Directorate of Sports & Youth Welfare, Assam.
