To facilitate the admission process for undergraduate programs in all higher educational institutions of Assam, the Govt. Assam has launched a common online admission portal called SAMARTH from the academic year 2023 – 2024. SAMARTH admission portal facilitates BA, BCom, BSc etc admission process in online mode as per New Education Policy 2020 in Assam.

Students will have six options to choose programs at the same higher education institution (university/college) or at different higher education institutions (HEIs) (university/college).

“Samarth” is an initiative of the Ministry of Education launched in 2019, under the National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology NMEICT-II (now NMEICT-III), which aims to enable Universities and Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). Through a digital framework for planning, managing, delivering, and monitoring services for students, staff, and other stakeholders. Under the project, HEIs are provided with a fully managed, cloud based, comprehensive ERP that is custom built for HEIs in the country.

SAMARTH Admission Portal Details

Students interested in taking admission in all government and aided colleges and universities of Assam can now take admission in desired courses and institutes using this integrated admission platform called Assam State Higher Education Admission Portal. Students now don’t have to go to one place to submit the admission form.

Moreover, students who register themselves on the portal can apply to ten colleges of their choice. Admission to the college and course of the student’s choice will be done on the basis of merit. Apart from being convenient, the portal will also save students money.

How to Apply for Admission in Assam College?

So, starting from the academic session 2023 – 2024, the Govt. Assam has scrapped the old admission process for UG admission. All the students who have passed the Higher Secondary Final Examination now have to apply online through Samarth portal for Bachelor Degree Courses.

Once, the online application process is completed, students can get admission in the college of their choice as per the merit list. Enable online admission process is detailed below.

• 3: First register yourself by entering your basic details.

• 4: Next, enter all the required personal and educational information.

• 5: Upload your educational and other documents as required.

• 6: Finally, submit the form. An acknowledgment receipt will be generated.

• 7: Also, take a print of the submitted form and acknowledgment copy.
